THE STORY OF OUR LOGO, OUR NAME, AND OUR NEWLETTER'S NAME |
NEW MEXICO ARCHEOLOGICAL COUNCIL |
Barbara Ball, wife of Sam Ball, designed the NMAC logo. It was created because it was thought that NMAC needed a logo and she had some artistic talent. The design has no specific significance. The design is composed of a Mimbres pot with a bat in the interior with the Zia sun symbol surrounding it. The logo first appeared in the October 31, 1983 NewsMac during Carol Condie’s presidency. Mark Henderson came up with the name "NewsMac," which Carol thought was a very clever name. |
